MANAGING YOUR PERSONAL DATA
When you share your personal information with us, you have a right to expect that information to be treated with total confidentiality. Therefore, it is our responsibility to manage your personal data that you provide to us with care and in accordance with all data protection legislation and industry best practice.
WHAT DATA IS BEING COLLECTED?
We only store the personal data you have provided via our website, such as your email address, phone number or postal address. We do not store or see any credit card information and all financial data is cleared using the payments system provided by the web host.
WILL THE DATA BE SHARED WITH ANY THIRD PARTIES?
No. Never. Not at all. We do not sell, trade or rent your personal information to anyone else. We are the only persons allowed and able to access your personal data.
WHAT DO WE DO WITH YOUR DATA?
Let’s be brutally honest, we use your data to encourage you to be our friends because we share similar values, and to buy our products because we believe you will love them as much as we do. We want to keep in touch with you so you don’t forget us and if you agree, we may use your email address to send you product information or a newsletter to keep you updated on new items in stock, promotions, partnerships or other topics that we feel are important to both of us. We may also use marketing profiling techniques to determine what product offers may be of interest to you whether that be by email or social media. We may also use your data to contact you directly should there be a problem with your order. Hopefully you’ll find our newsletters and updates fascinating, scintillating and erudite but should you prefer to use your time to catch up with a good book instead, we completely understand and you can easily unsubscribe, or email us directly and we will remove you from the list.
It is important that we all recognise the significance of marketing via social media. It is very possible that you first heard about SCARAL through Facebook or Instagram and we will continue to use these platforms to reach new and existing customers because internet based advertising is powerful and effective. Ethically however we would like to highlight to all our customers that these social media giants achieve this marketing success because they harvest our personal data every time we come into contact with them. For most people this is absolutely fine, but as we began our journey into e-commerce we have been shocked by the breadth and impact of how all our personal data is used.
WHAT RIGHTS DO YOU HAVE OVER YOUR DATA?

You may wish to access a copy of the personal data we hold about you - known as a Subject Access Request. You can do so by emailing us directly via the contact page.

For example, we will be unable to carry this out immediately if you have an ongoing matter with Customer Services, we are still in the process of shipping your order, you have an unsettled debt or where you have previously made a purchase and we need to retain parts of your data for book-keeping purposes.
